We created this Foundation in honor—and in memory—of our beloved son, Benjamin Robert Poole.
Shortly after his second birthday, Benjamin was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of Medulloblastoma. What followed was a journey that no child, no family, should ever have to face. With courage far beyond his years, Benjamin met every challenge with extraordinary strength, grace, and an unshakable spirit.
His fight took us from our home in Charlotte, North Carolina, to specialists and hospitals across the country—from Washington, D.C. to Columbus, Ohio—all in search of a cure. Along the way, Benjamin endured multiple brain surgeries, six rounds of high-dose chemotherapy, 30 rounds of radiation therapy, and bravely participated in a monoclonal radiation antibody trial.
Through it all, he never gave up. Neither did we.
Benjamin taught us that the true measure of a battle with cancer is not in wins or losses, but in how you fight—with heart, with hope, and with a deep desire to help others along the way. His strength fuels our mission. His memory guides our purpose.
This Foundation exists because we believe in a future where no child has to endure what Benjamin did. We are committed to funding research, supporting families, and standing beside those still fighting—with love, compassion, and the unwavering belief that together, we can make a difference.
Benjamin’s light continues to shine through every life we touch. This is his legacy.
At Benjamin the Brave Medulloblastoma Cancer Foundation, our mission is deeply personal—and heartbreakingly urgent.
We know the unimaginable pain of having a child diagnosed with cancer. We’ve lived it. The fear, the emotional toll, the financial strain—it’s a journey no family should ever have to face alone. And yet, far too many do.
Benjamin’s diagnosis of a rare and aggressive form of Medulloblastoma changed our world forever. We did everything possible to save him—crossing state lines, enduring endless treatments, holding on to hope through every procedure. But the cure he needed didn’t yet exist.
We’re determined to change that.
Our mission is twofold:
To fund the critical, life-saving research needed to discover a cure for Medulloblastoma—the cure that Benjamin, and so many others, have been waiting for—and to provide compassionate financial assistance to families currently fighting this disease.
We believe that no family should ever have to choose between their child’s care and their financial stability. By easing the burdens of treatment costs, travel, and lost income, we help families focus on what matters most: loving and caring for their child.
Benjamin’s brave fight and beautiful spirit inspire everything we do. His legacy lives on through our work, our hope, and our promise—to help families today and to fight for the cure that tomorrow’s children so desperately need.
Together, we are transforming grief into action, and love into lasting change.
